It doesn’t take a global pandemic to make us strangers.
Even when we walked around school, there were many faces we recognized but knew nothing about. Attending a mammoth institution like SAS makes it hard to get to know every single person attending the same school, but it wouldn’t hurt to attempt to get to know a few unfamiliar faces. Earlier in the semester, SAS Eye reporters Sunny Ham and Sasha Guzman found three pairs of people, acquaintances (Cat and Saskia), friends (Mina and Anjali) and strangers (Meera and Lance). The purpose was to demonstrate how people of different levels of friendship try their best to get to know each other a little better.
Now more than ever, we could all benefit from reaching out and attempting to expand our friend circles and diminish the effects of social isolation.
