Bored? Watch These.

Last week we threw some of our favorite tunes at you. Now, a feast for the more cinematic among you locked-down kindred spirits. With the lack of social activities and the fact that we no longer need to spend over an hour of our day transporting back and forth to the Woodlands, you may find yourself having some spare time. Maybe a bit too much spare time…..

If Parasite was a body part, it would be my bowels. Moves quickly with an explosive ending.

If you don’t know what to do maybe watch a few of the following:

(Disclaimer: the order is randomized and does not reflect rankings in any way, shape or form)

Warning: This will 100% mess with your mind. It may induce a headache and the need to lay down for a solid 15 minutes to reflect on what you have just seen.

If you haven’t seen this cult classic already, you must! It honestly is hard to give insight to this film without ruining, what I would consider, to be one of the best plot twists of all time. What I can say is that it is about a depressed insomniac who meets a peculiar soap seller, Tyler Durden. Both find themselves bored and found an underground fight club, where others who are tired of their lives fight each other while following strange and strict rules. So much more happens, but I guess you will have to watch the film to find out…

Missing the homies? This is the perfect movie to “Netflix Party” to! This light-hearted film series may not appeal to everyone with it’s childish humour, however if you need a good laugh with your friends you should definitely consider this series.

Scary Movie is a series of films that parody iconic horror movies. These films are so bad that they are almost good and appeals to a lot of people’s trashy sense of humour. The first film of the series follows along a group of friends who accidentally commit a murder, exactly one year later they face a masked stalker who sends death threats to each friend.

Let me tell you a story about this movie. I watched it in my 8th-grade science class because my teacher claimed it was “very interesting and extremely scientifically accurate.” What he had failed to mention was how emotional this film was. Not even 30 minute into the film, I had already started to cry my eyes out and the flood of tears didn’t stop even when the movie ended, I was still crying for at least 10 minutes after the film had finished. Maybe I am just an emotional trainwreck because I don’t think any of my classmates did more than shed a few tears, however, years later, this stands to be the only movie that has ever made me cry.

Set in the future, where the earth is almost uninhabitable, a NASA physicist plans to save the human race by transporting everyone to a new planet. Former NASA pilot Cooper leaves behind his family to travel through a wormhole in hopes to find out which planet could be a new home.

Not only does Leonardo DiCaprio’s beautiful face grace the entire movie, but the psychological complexities woven through the plot also make it even more exciting.

For more than half of the movie you probably will be drowning in confusion, but stick with it, everything comes together at the end. And I promise you when everything clicks it will blow your mind!

An asylum that lays on a remote island faces the disappearance of a patient. Teddy, a US Marshall, and his partner Chuck are sent to the island to investigate. Things really aren’t as they seem and Teddy discovers a big secret about the island…. or at least he thinks he does.

Immaculate. 10/10. A masterpiece. I must say this is my all time favorite movie, and probably will be for the rest of my life.

A young girl, Mathilda, hasn’t had the easiest life. She lived in a dysfunctional household, however she became the only one left after her family gets murdered. Her neighbor, Léon, is a professional assassin and reluctantly takes her in. Mathilda is determined to learn from Léon and take revenge the man responsible for the death of her family. Not only is the film action packed and displays fantastic film work, the character development and the portrayal of the relationship between Mathilda and Léon is what makes this film so fantastic.

You’ve probably already heard of this film. But, if you still haven’t seen it yet, there is no better time than now!

Not only did Parasite win four Oscars, it was also the first ever non-english film to win the award for Best Picture, making Oscars history.

The Kims, a poor family, deceive their way into becoming servants for the wealthy Parks family. Both the Kims and Parks learn and benefit from each other, however, things start to go downhill when the truth could be exposed. The film displays the extreme division of social classes in Korea and the psychological effects of society there.

As someone who hates starting TV-shows, I am telling you that you must watch Sherlock. This is probably the greatest show to exist, it perfectly combines elements of crime and humor.

This modern remake features all the classic elements with wonderfully complex characters. Dr. Watson, an ex-army doctor moves in with a strange man he just met, Sherlock Holmes. With Dr. Watson’s medical expertise and Sherlock’s sheer genius and love of crime, they make the perfect duo for solving mysteries.

Clearly, the world isn’t doing too well right now. If you ever need some comfort, you should watch That 70’s Show. The sitcom follows along 6 teenagers living in Wisconsin, essentially not much happens, but the show never fails to put a smile to my face. This is the perfect show to binge if you just need to relax or want fun background noise while exploring new hobbies such as painting. Also, there is 8 entire seasons so this show can keep you occupied for the entire circuit breaker period, even if it gets extended.

So maybe you’ve always wanted to learn another language. With all the extra time you probably have on your hands might as well try learn Italian. If you aren’t the biggest fan of only using Duolingo watch Netflix’s Italian show Baby.

In all honesty, I think the second season is absolute trash… the first season however, was completely binge worthy. Based on the real life “baby-squillo” scandal in Italy that dealt with underage prostitution, this show creates a new story that expresses the difficulties teenagers face, and for some, their scandalous lives. Chiara seems like your typical high achieving student of a fancy private school, but Chiara and her infamous friend Ludovica live completely different lives when it reaches night time.

If you think you’ve seen every sitcom you probably left one this one out. Although there is nothing too special about this show it’s extremely addicting and can keep you entertained for hours.

Baby Daddy offers 100 episodes that are guaranteed to make you laugh. Ben, a young bartender, experiences a complete change in his life when one of his many ex-girlfriends leave a baby on his doorstep. With a child to take care of, he consults the help of his mother and friends.
