The Experience of TEDx Youth at SAS

TEDx Youth held at Singapore American School has been occurring since 2015. This wonderful event organized by our very own High School Teacher Martha Began and the marvelous TEDx team and speakers filled with SAS High School Students has brought us stories from beloved students and teachers such as Barbara Harvey, our High School Art Teacher. TED Talks have one main mission for our students and teachers to be able to spread ideas. The inspiration of the TEDx community is to “welcome people from every discipline and culture” to encourage “a deeper understanding of the world”. They believe that the “power of these ideas can change attitudes, lives and, ultimately, the world”. When the 2019 TEDx Youth at SAS was being organized by students and performed by students, The Eye has provided you with an in-depth experience of what it’s like to have a TEDx Youth Event being held at our very own school.

Mitali Singh is currently a senior at Singapore American School and this is her second year reporting for The Eye. Living all 17 years of her life in Singapore, she tries not to spend her time debating whether to binge-watch TV shows or watching past vine compilations (rip vine). Rather she would spend her time towards her passion to write and tell stories of others, which she is excited to continue this year by producing more sophisticated content. So, if you have any interesting stories from your life or even vines you would like to share, she can be contacted at singh772234@sas.edu.sg.
