Summer Break is nearly upon us. You may travel far, or you may host friends and family descending on the red dot and ready to document the memories. No doubt, Singapore is the ideal city for Instagram users: its beautiful skyline, trendy cafes, and abundance of art museums make for an aesthetically pleasing feed. Here are the Eye’s top 10 most ‘Instagrammable’ spots in Singapore.
1. Chinatown

With lanterns strung across practically every street, Chinatown makes for the ideal Instagram photo spot. The vibrant shades of red and yellow, as well as views of Skyscrapers peeking between buildings, make for an aesthetically pleasing shot.
2. Gardens by the Bay

Gardens by the Bay is one of Singapore’s most remarkable tourist destinations on the island. There is an endless array of flower and plant varieties, as well as even an indoor waterfall—location full of the unexpected and perfect for photography.
3. Haji Lane

The narrow alleys of Haji Lane are quaint, colorful, and charming. It makes for an ideal spot for Instagrammers who are perhaps “indie”. Plus, after you take photos, there are many cute cafes and boutiques to explore!
4. ArtScience Museum

Singapore’s ArtScience museum boasts stunning exhibitions, including the ever-so-famous Future World. Although the entire museum is stunning, Future World, in particular, looks incredible in photos; its twinkling lights are surreal and certainly social media-worthy.
5. Marina Barrage

Marina Barrage is actually a dam in Singapore that supplies water and alleviates floods, but that isn’t to say that it’s not a perfect spot for Instagram photos, or a nice picnic. The view from the grassy area is gorgeous, and every inch of Singapore’s skyline can be seen.
6. Macritchie Reservoir

Macritchie Reservoir is Singapore’s oldest reservoir and is filled with beautiful greenery. One of the most popular areas of the reservoir is the treetop walk, which is a bridge that expands across the trees, about 25 meters high. This bridge is perfect for an effortless “in the jungle” vibe photo.
7. Tiong Bahru

Tiong Bahru has been recognized as one of the hippest and most chill parts of Singapore. Every corner has a trendy cafe or shop, and there’s also multiple walls adorned with unique street art.
8. Joo Chiat Road- Peranakan shophouses

Joo Chiat Road is lined with charming pastel-colored shophouses. These houses are extremely detailed and exemplify the legacy of Peranakan culture that still permeates modern Singapore. It’s on my personal bucketlist to visit because of how stunning the houses are (and definitely make for a gorgeous Instagram photo)!
9. Helix Bridge

The Helix Bridge is an overwater bridge in the Marina Bay area of Singapore, and it’s view of the skyline is remarkable. It’s pretty both during the day, and at night when all of the lights in the city are on. It’s one of the best locations for a shot of MBS!
10. Marina Bay Sands Infinity Pool

Any list of Instagrammable shots in Singapore would be incomplete without the Marina Bay Sands infinity pool. The pool is truly stunning, with aesthetically pleasing sunbeds, palm trees, glittering water. Although staying at the hotel comes with a hefty price tag, there’s nothing quite like the top of MBS- and the potential Instagram photos taken there.
So whip out your camera or smartphone, hop on the MRT, and get shooting. For some of us, we may soon live far, far away. Do you have other favorite spots in the city adorning your Instagram? Offer up other prime locations in the comments section below!
