It was a busy transfer window for the Premier League, with the signatures of expensive stars including Memphis Depay, Raheem Sterling, Kevin De Bruyne, and Xherdan Shaqiri, and some relatively unknown talents being added to the teams. Week 7 having just passed, here are five of the most impressive signings so far:

- Anthony Martial:
Manchester United’s deadline day signing from AS Monaco brought immense speculation in the 19 year old’s ability. While some compared him to the likes of legendary Thierry Henry, some just saw the signing as a desperate scramble by United. However, Martial has shown on the pitch just why United payed the loftee fee of 38 million pounds. Martial has scored 4 goals in 5 games for United, including his stunning debut goal against rivals Liverpool. Manchester United fans will be excited to see the teenager develop at the club.

- Toby Alderweireld:
Tottenham Hotspur’s defence line has looked sturdy in the early stages of the season, and Toby Alderweireld has been a huge factor of it. Brought in from Atletico Madrid for a mere 11.4 million pounds, Alderweireld has commanded the defence line alongside his compatriot Jan Vertonghen. Not only has he brought stability to the back line, he has shown his potential going forward, scoring the winning goal against Manchester City in week 7. He is a gem for Spurs, and will be a focal point in Tottenham’s season.

- Rudy Gestede:
This 1.93m giant has come into the Premier League with a bang. Having played previously for Cardiff City and Blackburn Rovers, Gestede was still quite an unknown man when he was bought by Aston Villa for 6 million pounds. Since his arrival, he has scored the winning goal in his debut game, as well as two impressive goals against Liverpool in week 7. He’s strong, confident, and has a hell of a header. He reminds me of Manchester United’s Marouane Fellaini, only around four times cheaper.

- Andre Ayew
Swansea City have bagged a bargain with the signing of Andre Ayew for… free. The Ghana international chose to join the Welsh club once his contract with Marseille ran out. In the Premier League, he’s scored three goals in four games, against big clubs such as Chelsea and Manchester United. His pace and his heading have looked exceptional, and Swansea fans will be looking forward to more of his Dynamics.

- Matteo Darmian
Another Manchester United signing. Matteo Darmian, 25 year old Italian, was brought in from Torino for around 12 million pounds. Since coming into the squad, Darmian has looked a reliable and hungry defender for United. Following Luke Shaw’s injury, Darmian’s versatility of being able to play on both the right and the left side has been a blessing for United. He’s looked impressive defending against skillful wingers, and has shown his eagerness to get forward and help out with the attack. Composed, solid, and a great asset for Manchester United.
