Mood for Food: Sushi Burrito

Do you ever find yourself craving Mexican and Asian food at the same time? Look no further because Sushi Burrito has the fix to your craving! Located in 100 AM Mall in the midst of the central business district, Sushi Burrito is the perfect place for a satisfying lunch.

As if the name doesn’t give it away already, this popular new restaurant specializes in burrito-size sushi. Customers have the option of ordering a half or whole portion. Half rolls vary from around $5-8,the whole roll tends to be around $10-13.

Sushi Burrito is the perfect place for a casual, fast-paced lunch. Customers order at the register and watch as their sushi burrito is made right in front of their eyes. The chef prepares the meal in less than two minutes and customers pick up the delicious masterpiece at the pickup counter. The restaurant has a small interior and many customers take their orders to go, but there are enough tables for everyone to find a seat. The free wifi and quick lunch vibe, attracts the business crowd during the weekdays. However, it is a popular lunch spot for everyone on weekends. Although a half roll is more than enough, a whole sushi burrito is hard to resist. Anna and I selected the Rising Sun; a sushi burrito filled with salmon sashimi, crab meat, lettuce, onions, avocado, carrots, cabbage, and topped with fukushin zuke (sliced vegetables pickled in soy sauce).

The Rising Sun was full of spicy flavor. The wasabi sauce that coated the inside of the sushi burrito was the main contributor to the intense sensation of spiciness. The salmon sashimi and crab meat is made fresh but each ingredient creates a unique combination of taste. Although this sushi burrito is considered a “healthier choice” on the menu, it is definitely appetizing.

If you are looking for a unique lunch spot, Sushi Burrito is the place for you. Its flavorful food is sure to satisfy your craving and have you coming back for more.
