Eagles dominate first season exchange

This weekend saw the results of first season sports, dance, and drama exchange.

Eagles varsity soccer teams travelled to Jakarta. The girls won 2-0 against the host team, 3-0 against Kuala Lumpur, and 4-0 against Bangkok, coming home undefeated with no goals let in. Boys came home with 1-0 loss against Bangkok, 3-2 win against the host team, and 3-0 win against Kuala Lumpur.

In Bangkok, girls and boys cross country runners participated in a 2.5k race and a 5k race. Results for the 2.5k race have not been posted, but SAS girls won the 5k with seven runners in the top 15. With three runners in the top 15, Eagle boys came in second to the International School of Bangkok (ISB).

Dancers in Bangkok participated in technique workshops with Manila, Taipei, Jakarta, and Kuala Lumpur for hip hop, contemporary, zumba, and bollywood dance styles.

Here at SAS, thespians participated in a four-hour workshop with a Singapore theatre group.

Girls and boys volleyball stayed home for the weekend. Both teams took first place with wins against Manila in tournament finals. SAS girls finished the tournament undefeated with 3-0 wins against Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Manila, and Brent. SAS boys also saw a triumphant weekend, with 2-1 wins against Manila and Kuala Lumpur and 3-0 wins against Jakarta, Bangkok, and Brent.

If the exchange outcomes are any indication, IASAS for the Eagles this October looks very promising.
